Buried by C J Carmichael
Coincidences abound in Buried, but they’re so subtly inserted, that you only realise there are a few too many for realism when you get to the end of the book. Despite this, the concept of a true crime writer being lured back to the small town where he grew up to uncover a series of murders more than four decades old, kept me interested and kept me guessing.
The ‘whodunnit’ is fascinating, but they ‘whydunnit’ is only lightly touched on.
It’s the first of three books and although later books may well reveal more, the first book offers enough to be satisfying rather than frustrating.
